The ceramic ring provides thermal and electrical insulation between the nozzle and the cutting head body, protecting sensitive electronics from heat damage.

Replacement Indicators
- Cracks or chips visible on the ring surface
- Color change from white to gray/brown (oxidation indicator)
- Electrical continuity detected between nozzle and head
- Inconsistent capacitive height sensing
ENGINEERING TIP
Ceramic ring care: Ceramic rings are brittle — always use a torque wrench set to the manufacturer's specification (typically 3-5 Nm). Over-tightening is the #1 cause of premature ceramic ring failure. Store spare rings in individual padded compartments to prevent edge chipping.
